2. Sonatine, for Viola and Piano

The three sonatinas for viola and piano were written in late autumn and winter of 2016. They follow the classical three-movement pattern. The second sonatina starts with a lyric movement, the middle section of which is both melodically and rhythmically Blues-inspired. The scherzo-like second movement is played pizzicato, excepting a short middle part. The finale musically mirrors the first movement, the main part now using elements of Blues and Jazz.
